July 2012, still raining so why not spend an afternoon shooting in a swimming pool!
It was my first session photographing in a pool and the first half an hour was spent letting the camera and lens acclimatise to the humidity. A good excuse while I got ready and sorted out how to do the shoot.
After a short session letting the swimmers show off doing their best strokes, I could start shooting after working out the best view-points for each stroke. A low angle added to the impact of the photo but lying on the side of the pool I quickly wished I was not wearing jeans. Side view for front crawl, head on for breast stroke and butterfly – I was learning quickly.
